Powerpoint presentations will definitely be useful in teaching. I know that I am going to use them when I teach. I think that powerpoints are a good way to organize presentations and visually show your lesson plans. You can do alot with them by adding visualizers, sounds, videos, pictures and text.

Digital media software refers to any computer-based presentation or application software that uses multimedia elements. Educational software are applications used on computers for the sole purpose of teaching and learning. This is a type of integrated learning system (ILS).

The knowledge of creating websites and using wiki's will be very useful when teaching because I can use them to post things for my classes. I can also have my students do wiki's and blogs to help them learn. Using this technology will be useful and beneficial for students.

I wish our football team was playing better. I am a believer in Xavier Lee, I think that he has the potential to be a great quarterback, I just think he needs more experience. He's been sitting on the sideline for two years, that would discourage anyone. Now that he's getting starts and playing full games I think his play will rapidly improve and confidence will grow. Our defense came out to play against Miami but they just couldn't stop getting the turnovers by our offense. We'll see how the rest of this season and hopefully we get two more wins to have a winning season. Go Noles!

Chapter 2 is about communications, networks, the internet, and the world wide web. Interent services include e-mail, blogs, message boards, chat rooms, and FTP's. Search engines are tools the find websites using keywords. A search engine is a type of search tool.

One skill that I aquired this week that will definitely be usefull for teaching and in everyday life is search techniques. Google.com is a website that I use almost everyday. It is a powerful search engine that is actually set as my homepage as igoogle. Search techniquies will help me find the things I need faster and more efficiently.

This was kinda funny. As I was writing this blog the person that lives below me was blasting his music. It was really getting on my nerves because I have a lot of homework to do. So rather than going down there and talking to him I started playing my bass guitar. I turned it up all the way and just started playing. I think it worked because the music stopped. I just thought this was funny.

An input device is any hardware component that allows you to enter data, programs, commands, and user responses into a computer. Input devices include keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras, audio and reading devices, and input devices for students with special needs. Well this paragraph is supposed to be about anything, but I really don't have anything to talk about so I'll vent a little. We are only 4 weeks into the school year and I am ready for next summer. Classes are already starting to irritate me. I have a paper due on thursday that I don't even know how to do, and I got a horrible grade on the first one. On top of that I have a Test on Friday and I am not prepared for that either. I feel like there is not enough time in the day. I also feel like I shouldn't be in college, I feel like I can't keep up. I need advice, I need help.

One website I explored in the integration corner was about colonial williamsburg. It was able to take students on an electronic field trip to Williamsburg. It had video and links that took you through the excavation of artifacts and remnants of the colonial times. They had all kinds of videos to show you what life was like in that time period.

The ideas and techniques we used this week in Microsoft Word will come in handy when we start teaching. Creating lesson plans, newsletters, handouts, worksheets, these are all usefull things that will save us time in creating and using with our students.

A piece of assistive technology that I learned about is a reading pen for students with dyslexia. It is a word scanner that the students use while they read. They scan the text and it reads it back to them. It also contains a dictionary if the student doesn't know a word. It helps the students with dyslexia that have trouble reading, it helps them learn to read correctly and effectively.
